Save Yourself, Avoid Negative Influences
by Daniel B Baker

Watching the news can be hazardous to your health.

Watching news events related to terrorism, kidnapping, murder, accidents, and other negative information can be hazardous to your health. Thinking about these incidents make you worry and will leave you feeling weak and vulnerable.  While watching these events you often imagine yourself as the victim.   This can lead to a negative outlook on life.

Your environment has a big influence on you.  How can you think and grow rich if you're surrounded with messages that say, "life is hard" or "you have no control over your life."

You can't change your environment, but you certainly can control your mind.  Visualization can be very effective.  Use your imagination, just as you would when you're a kid.  Imagine your home as a palace, your average meal as fine dining gourmet, and a park or your backyard as your favorite vacation spot.  Your subconscious mind will change these images into reality.

Another huge influence over you are the people around you.  They express what they feel is right and wrong, good and bad, possible and impossible.  Your subconscious mind is affected by the opinions it hears over and over.

We tend to acquire the traits and characteristics of people around us. We adopt the good and the bad.

Many criminals have been brought up by people who have either misguided them or have taught them the wrong things in life.
Through the years, they have developed low values and self-esteem.

If you place a person who doesn’t swear, into a group of bad-mouthed individuals who incorporates swear words in their everyday language.  Sooner or later, you'll notice that nice person speaking in the same manner as the group.

So, how do you protect your positive attitude?

First, try and avoid negative people.  I know, easier said than done.  But if you are going to improve your life, you may need to find new friends.

Second, when you can’t avoid these negative people, simply learn how
to shield out pessimistic comments or suggestions. Be firm with what you believe in.  Do not let their opinions affect your decisions.  They may tell you what you want to do is impossible, but do it anyway.  In the end you will be the one laughing.

Third, develop relationships with positive people.  Look to develop a support group with similar ideas and principles that are striving to improve their lives as well.

When I was starting my internet career, very few of my relatives and friends believed in me.  But I did not let their negative comments stop me. I continued my quest to make a living online.

I befriended respected internet marketers and other entrepreneurs who shared a similar vision as mine.  They have also experienced the same negative treatment from non-believers; but they have proven that what the mind can conceive, it can achieve.  With their help, I was able to put aside my doubts and achieve my goals.

You have the power to make your dreams a reality.  Just do it.
