We tend to acquire the
traits and characteristics of people around us. We adopt the good and
the bad.
Many criminals have been brought up by people who
have either misguided them or have taught them the wrong things in
life.
Through the years, they have developed low values and
self-esteem.
If you place a person who doesn’t swear, into a
group of bad-mouthed individuals who incorporates swear words in their
everyday language. Sooner or later, you'll notice that nice
person speaking in the same manner as the group.
So, how do you protect your positive
attitude?
First, try
and avoid negative people. I know, easier said than done.
But if you are going to improve your life, you may need to find new
friends.
Second,
when you can’t avoid these negative people, simply learn how
to shield out pessimistic comments or
suggestions. Be firm with what you believe in. Do not let their
opinions affect your decisions. They may tell you what you want
to do is impossible, but do it anyway. In the end you will be the
one laughing.
Third, develop relationships with
positive people. Look to develop a support group with similar
ideas and principles that are striving to improve their lives as well.
